Pointers For Parents
Here are a few pointers which parents can follow to positively affect the way their children view homework and school. These techniques work best if used in a noncritical, supportive and caring way

If possible set aside a specific time each day for homework.

Don't do your child's homework, but let the child know you are available for help.
Encourage your child to take notes about important information in class.
Plan a regular reading time for you and your child.
Discourage "cramming" for examinations. Encourage regular study habits.
If your child is having trouble with an assignment, be careful not to criticize. Find out what the problem is and try to help solve it.
Remember, your positive attitude toward homework, teachers, and school can have great influence on your child's success.
